    Whooping Cough Epidemic

    Currently, in California there is an epidemic of Pertussis, also known as Whooping Cough. Whooping cough is a bacterial infection that can cause severe coughing fits that make it difficult to breathe.

    The Santa Clara County Public Health Department has reported a spike in pertussis cases during the month of July. Since January 1, there have been 97 whooping cough cases reported in Santa Clara County, with more than half of those occurring in the month of July. Infants can be vaccinated starting at 2 months old, then again at 4 and 6 months. Until all three shots are completed, infants are not fully protected.     Strength in LASD Performance Continues

    Los Altos School District continues its exemplary performance as measured many different ways. One measure is the Accountability Performance Index (API).     Bullis Charter School

    The Board of Trustees approved its Preliminary Offer of Facilities to the Bullis Charter School for the 2010-11 school year at its January 25, 2010 meeting. Click here for more information regarding the facilities offer.
