Believe it or not, when I was in 2nd grade I decided that I wanted to be a teacher. I grew up in the bay area and went through the Sunnyvale School District. The inspiration to become a teacher came from my elementary experience, especially my 2nd grade teacher Mrs. Brown. I vividly remember the way she made every student in her class feel so loved and special. I graduated from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo with a degree in Child Development. I received my teaching credential from San Jose State University and was extremely fortunate to land a student teaching position at Covington Elementary School. Here I am starting my sixteenth year of teaching in LASD! This year will be my seventh year teaching 5th grade at Covington. Prior to that, I taught 2nd grade for 9 years. I also have the privilege of being a Covington parent, with a 5th grader and a 2nd grader. We are a proud Coyote family!
