Digital TAT2

Our focus is on helping youth develop the critical-thinking skills they need to manage their own privacy, respect the privacy of others, and use cyber-sense and ethical decision making in their digital lives. We further believe in supporting students to create a positive digital tattoo and stand up to social cruelty both on and offline. My Digital TAT2 believes that creating an online community of kindness and respect necessitates a three pronged systemic approach to understanding and supporting our youth: educating and empowering students, parents, and school personnel.

Community Health Awareness Council

  • Is my child getting depressed and anxious?
  • What's normal, and when is it time to get help?

The Community Health Awareness Council (CHAC) is a nonprofit mental health services agency located in Mountain View, California. CHAC exists under a Joint Powers Agreement, and includes the local governments of Mountain View, Los Altos, and Los Altos Hills as well as the Mountain View Whisman School District, the Los Altos School District, and the Mountain View-Los Altos Union High School District. Each year CHAC serves more than 11,000 local youth and individuals at our clinic and at 33 school campuses. Our programs address a variety of emotional problems affecting children, teens, adults and families. Many programs are designed to protect young people from high–risk behaviors such as alcohol or illicit drug abuse, violence, and premature sexual activity, while building personal assets such as school success, valuing diversity, maintaining good health, and the ability to delay gratification; all of which will help insure that they have the greatest chance for success in life.

Well Within  - Substance Abuse and Treatment Program

  • How do I Begin To Talk To My Child About Drugs and Alcohol?
  • What's the reality about marijuana, alcohol and other drug usage by our young people in Palo Alto? What's really going on?

The intensive outpatient program teaches teens to become “well within” through therapy, support, and education and help them build the skills and confidence needed to create a healthy future.  Using proven therapeutic approaches, Well Within helps participants discover and embrace healthy alternatives to drug and alcohol use, thereby positively impacting the family and community as well as their own lives.

Challenge Success

  • I feel like my child is overscheduled, overstressed and I don't know what to do?
  • My child is feeling the pressure to succeed, and I'm feeling it too. With so much homework, it's hard to find a healthy balance. I feel like our family life, and even my child's well-being is sometimes being compromised
  • This is not what I remember from my childhood, and not what I want for my child, but how can I change anything?

At Challenge Success, we work every day to provide schools and families with the information and strategies they need to create a more balanced and academically fulfilling life for their kids.  We work with teams of educators, parents and students at schools to identify problems and implement best practices for school policies, curriculum, assessment, and a healthy school climate.  We provide support to parents by giving them the tools to help their children regain their balance, strengthen their sense of self, increase their motivation and critical thinking skills, and learn how to deal effectively with the inevitable challenges of life. And we conduct, collect and synthesize research, so that the public can make informed decisions about educating children.
