Grace Choi Email Address: gchoi@lasdschools.org Having served as a classroom teacher and as instructional support teacher for the past nineteen years, I can confidently say that I have found my true passion in life as an educator.  Although a native to Palo Alto, I briefly ventured out to Los Angeles where I forever became a Bruin while receiving both my bachelor and master degrees from UCLA. Recently, I attained my Administrative Credential to build my capacity as an instructional leader. In all things, I work diligently and strive to inspire a passion for learning within the school community that impacts students to become contributing agents of change.   When I am not at work, I can be spotted around town going for a jog, shuttling my three kids in her burgundy minivan between Loyola and Blach, or hopping between Target, Trader Joe’s, and other markets finding items to cook my latest Asian inspired noodle recipes.  Above all, I love spending time with my family, friends, and church to help ground and maintain a balanced life.

Laura Wiley Email Address: lwiley@lasdschools.org My name is Laura Wiley and I will be one of the Instructional Support Teachers this year. I have been part of Los Altos School District for 8 years. My first 6 years where in the classroom, teaching both Kindergarten and 2nd Grade at Gardner Bullis. For the past 2 years, I worked as an Instructional Support Teacher (IST) in Literacy at Santa Rita. I will be continuing my work around the district and I look forward to getting to know more staff, students, and families. I grew up in the area and attended schools is Mountain View before attending The University of Arizona. After graduation, I returned home and followed in the footsteps of my mother and became a teacher, receiving my teaching credential from National University. I have a passion for educating students & teachers especially in literacy. I strive to spark a love of reading and writing in students and adults alike.

Ricky Hu Email Address: rhu@lasdschools.org I’m excited to be a STEM IST, focusing on computer science and STEM education for K-5 students. I started my career in 2011 as an 8th grade science teacher at Blach until 2018-19, where I transitioned to a role as a STEM Instructional Support teacher at Almond.  In my time as an educator, I’ve devoted much of my passion and energy around developing students’ sense of curiosity and creativity, and finding meaningful and rigorous ways for all students to engage in Science and STEM. As a member of LATA’s exec board for the past 3 years, I’ve collaborated with members of the Los Altos community with the goal of making LASD the best environment for students to learn and for teachers to work. In my downtime, I love to continue learning by picking up all sorts of hobbies and skills, including basketball, cooking, motorcycling, and most recently, archery.
